JOURNEY TO SOUTH CANADA: WINDSOR, POINT PELEE NATIONAL PARK AND AMHERSTBURG August 20th, Friday - August 22nd, Sunday 2021 3 days, 2 nights $ 590 (single supplement - $ 160) firstname.lastname@example.org 416-722-9043 What is included: two nights at a downtown Windsor hotel, three breakfasts, a two-hour cruise on the Detroit River, Fort Malden National Historic Site, a visit to Pelee Point National Park, and a wine tasting. On the weekend of August 20-22, we will travel from Toronto to the southernmost part of Canada. Windsor is the southernmost of all Canadian cities. Windsor coasts are one of the best waterfronts in Canada. The sculpture Park is located on the banks of the Detroit River between the Ambassador Bridge and the city's Art Gallery. It offers an amazing view of Detroit with its magnificent Renaissance Center. During the sightseeing tour we will see the architectural landmarks of Windsor, the cozy Italian quarter and the historic Old Workeville. We will devote Saturday to a trip to the Point Pelee National Park. Point Pelee is a true Canadian gem. The water in Lake Erie is very warm in the summertime and it is a pleasure to swim here. A few hundred meters from the tip of the peninsula and the southernmost point of Canada, there is a tall tower with observation platforms. A park shuttle will bring you there. The 1.5-kilometer boardwalk along the lily ponds and reeds is romantic and very picturesque! You can rent a kayak here. There are many interesting hiking trails in the park forest and marches. On Sunday we will leave Windsor for the wonderful town of Amherstburg, located on the banks of the Detroit River near Lake Erie. This town is engulfed in flowers. There are many historical sights, including Fort Malden. A historic downtown area features buildings from the 18th and 19th century, very expressive sculptures and monuments, stunning nature and panoramic views. We will walk along the beautiful waterfront, its charming downtown, King's Navy Yard Park and visit Fort Malden located in the heart of old Amherstburg. After exploring Amherstburg, we will visit a winery on the very shore of Lake Erie, where, after tasting the wine, there will be another opportunity to swim in the warm waters of this lake. After that we will return to Toronto.
